To see if you and your child will enjoy rugby and our club we offer two no obligation tryout sessions before membership is required. Any appropriate clothing can be worn for these tryouts. Please take note however of the requirements for gum shields and appropriate footwear below.
Kit
Team Shirts, shorts, socks, fleeces and training tops are all available from the club and reasonably priced. We also have team hats, and a selection of base layers, including gloves for those cold training days. Rugby/football boots are a necessity for protection and on wet/muddy pitches. To play at the festivals a team shirt, rugby shorts and studded boots will be needed.
Gum shields
Children in the U8's and older groups will be required to wear a gum shield during training and in games. We have a dentist that comes once or twice during the season to fit dental shields, which are highly recommended for the older contact age groups, alternatively most sports shops offer heat moulded shields; for more information on mouthguards see www.opro.com
All of the above (bar new boots), including self fit gum shields are available from our kit shop on a Sunday morning.
Membership
All players must be registered with the club and with Surrey RFU before they can take part in festivals. Annual player membership is £35 per player, per season; discounts are available to multiple siblings - £55 for 2; £65 for 3 and £25 each for additionals thereafter. Weekly subs are £2 per week per person to go towards rent & rates. The ticket you receive upon paying your subs can be redeemed for a hot dog and a drink after training.
We aim not to charge additional match fees but in exceptional circumstances this may be required. These are only where we are invited to additional festivals that are outside of our prearranged development festivals; and wherever possible clubs finds will be used.
Lions social family membership is available at £20 per season, to those who wish to utilise the club facilities - gym, bar & club house, other than on a Sunday, during the season and summer months and to enable you to hire the facilities.
Communication
The club needs to have up to date contact information to ensure you can be contacted if required, please ensure you pass on any changes to your details as soon as possible.
