About Emanuel Rugby.
The Club was founded in 1910 and matches were originally played on a ground in Earlsfield before our current home was established in the mid 1920's. Barring the two world wars the Club has played continuously since its inception and we are keenly anticipating our centenary in a few years time.
Whilst we have not provided any household names in the rugby world the Club has enjoyed the pleasure of having many fine players representing England A, England Students, England Colts, Scotland U21, Combined Services, Surrey and Combined London Old Boys.
The Club has embraced league and cup rugby wholeheartedly but has never forgotten the traditional club and rugby virtues of touring. The traditional post-war tours were to the Midlands or Devon and the West Country. Then came tours to France and the Netherlands followed by regular return visits together with other tours to USA, the former Yugoslavia, Belgium, Wales, Ireland, Denmark, Spain, Czech Republic, Poland, Canada, Hungary and regular trips to Jersey.
